George Mwika Kayange

George Mwika Kayange is the founder of Projects101 Academy and its parent organisation, the First Web Foundation.

He has nearly 25 years of experience managing projects and programmes in the international development sector. He has worked across Malawi, India, Botswana, and the United Kingdom, leading strategic programmes in disability inclusion, assistive technology, and community development.

George holds an MBA in Project Management from the University of Zambia and a BSc in Project Management from the Institute of Development Management (IDM) in Botswana. He is also a doctoral graduate of Loughborough University London, where his PhD research examined how assistive technology innovation ecosystems function in Malawi, Kenya, and South Africa.

Before founding Projects101 Academy, George served as Director of Programmes at the Southern Africa Federation of the Disabled (SAFOD). In that role, he designed and led programmes that supported people with disabilities across the 16 member countries of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). He also represented SAFOD on the Board of ATscale, the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology.

He holds the following PMI certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), and Project DPro.

George is passionate about mentoring aspiring and mid-career project managers, especially those working in small non-profits across sub-Saharan Africa.
